How it works
Intra encrypts your internet connection to a public Domain Name System (DNS) server. DNS servers work like a contact list — when you use the internet, your DNS server provides the exact addresses you need to visit a website or open an app.
However, DNS servers can be altered to block access or redirect you to fake websites. By encrypting your connection to DNS servers on your Android device, Intra helps ensure that the results can’t be manipulated, so you can safely access the internet.

Free Private Dns For Android
You have three options when configuring Android:
1 - Private DNS (For Android 9+)
2 - CleanBrowsing App (for old Android versions)
3 - Configure Manually
Step 1: Private DNS
Go to Settings->Network->Advanced and look for the Private DNS option.
Step 2: Add the Private DNS hostname
In there, you will be able to add the Private DNS hostname of your choice. For the Free Filters, you have 3 choices:
Family Filter: family-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org
Adult Filter: adult-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org
Security Filter: security-filter-dns.cleanbrowsing.org

For our Paid customers, please go to your dashboard to find the Private DNS hostname to use.

Step 1: Download our CleanBrowsing App

Step 2: Choose the filter and Connect to it.
Once the App is installed, click to open it. In there, you will be able to select the filter you want to use. Pick the one of your choice (Family, Adult or Custom) and click on connect. The App will ask you to authorize a VPN to force all DNS requests to go through our filters. Accept it and you will be all set.
That's it. Getting a and children-safe Android is pretty easy with this App. Let us know if you have any questions.

Manual Step 1: Go to Settings

If you don't want to use our App for any specific reason, you can also enable it manually. First, go to your Android Settings page. If you are using a Samsung, it will be under Apps->Settings.
Depending on your version, the Settings App might be on your home screen (the icon looks like a Wrench).

Manual Step 2: Find your Wifi list
Find the Wifi entry and click on it. You should see the list of all your networks, with the one you are connected to at the top.
Note that if this device can connect to multiple Wifi networks, you will have to apply the same change on each one of them. But let's do the one you are connected to first.
Manual Step 3: Go to Manage Network
Click and hold - long press - on your first Wifi network (the one you are connected to). Click on the 'Manage Network' or 'Modify Network' option that will show up.
Manual Step 4: Change Wifi to Static
We are getting very close now. On some Android devices, you will need to click on Advanced (or show Advanced settings). To finis adjusting your DNS configuration, change the IP Settings from DHCP to Static.

Manual Step 5: Change the DNS
Scroll down the list and you should see a place called DNS 1, DNS 2 or 'DNS Servers' where you will be able to add our new DNS server pointing to 185.228.168.168 (or 185.228.169.168). You can copy and paste from here and add it in there.
Once 185.228.168.168 (or 185.228.169.168) is added, you can click on OK and then on Apply to save your settings.
