The driver posted on epson.com is version 2.77A, which is Power PC based.
We have received calls that the driver does work with MAC 10.6 operating system.
Please try the following:
- Remove USB cable from the scanner
- Remove the existing scanner drive
- Download and install the Epson utility ver. 2.77A
- If there are any other scanner or all-in-one units installed, please remove the drivers
- reconnect the USB cable to scanner
- launch Epson Scan from hard drive/applications/Epson

The fact that the Scanner Epson Perfection 2450 worked under Windows 8 was not chance or luck, although there isn't officially a driver for Windows 8 available. I installed the driver manually means, that I choosed the driver in a menu (Driver Installation Menu) of Windows 8. It was already there, but it didn't had a signature.
