The app was developed using the same technology that is in the FreeStyle Libre reader for receiving and processing glucose data, so it can also be used for routine glucose monitoring. The app can be used instead of, or in combination with, the FreeStyle Libre reader.

There are two Prerequisite Files that are required for running the device drivers on a Windows computer. You may be prompted during the drivers installation process to install the following files if your computer is missing them:

Freestyle Libre Desktop Software Mac Download

Once downloaded, open the Device Drivers file and follow the instructions in the set-up window that will appear. You will be able to successfully upload devices into LibreView once the drivers are installed. It is recommended to restart your computer after you finish the installation.

  1. LibreLinkUp is a mobile application, developed and provided by Newyu.
  2. FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle LibreLink are provided by Abbott. Use of FreeStyle LibreLink and LibreLinkUp requires registration with LibreView, a service provided by Abbott and Newyu.
  3. The FreeStyle LibreLink app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check the website for more information about device compatibility before using the app. Use of FreeStyle LibreLink requires registration with LibreView.
  4. The FreeStyle LibreLink app and the FreeStyle Libre reader have similar but not identical features. A finger prick test using a blood glucose meter is required during times of rapidly changing glucose levels when interstitial fluid glucose levels may not accurately reflect blood glucose levels or if hypoglycemia or impending hypoglycemia is reported by the Sensor or when symptoms do not match the Sensor readings.
  5. The FreeStyle Libre sensor communicates with the FreeStyle Libre reader that started it, or the FreeStyle LibreLink app that started it. If you wish to use both the reader and the app, start your sensor with the reader first, then scan with the phone within one hour.
  6. Transfer of glucose data between applications depends on cellular connectivity.
