Upgrading Skyrim to the latest patch is usually recommended, as many bugs and glitches are often fixed by the patches. You can find out about your version in the lower left corner of the 'System' screen (Esc on PC, Start then selecting 'System' on console). Extra details on specific platforms can be found on the related pages, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Please note that having a designated patch installed will not guarantee that the issue it was supposed to fix will be fixed upon entering game. In some cases after a patch has been installed players have noted that their previous save files have become unplayable, glitchy and other issues. As such it may be necessary to start a new game file to have all issues resolved.

• Skeleton Key will now work properly if player has no lockpicks in their inventory
• Fixed rare issue with renaming enchanted weapons and armor
• Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death
• ESC button can now be used to exit menus
• Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues
• General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls

Bugs introduced

1.2 introduced a number of bugs. These included, but are not limited to:

• Dragons occasionally flying backwards
• Resistances not calculated correctly and therefore have no effect
• Enchantments no longer working
• Scripts causing Treasure Map chests to appear do not work

Files changed by this update were SkyrimLauncher.exe and interface.bsa. In order to roll back to 1.1, it is necessary to restore both of these files.

These issues were fixed in the 1.3.7.0 update, though some anomalous dragon behavior has still been observed as of 1.3.7.0.

• Enchanting an item to improve the Sneak skill properly calculates the bonus to the player's Sneak skill
• Enchanting an item to improve the Lockpick skill properly calculates the bonus to the player's Lockpick skill
• Corpus Enchanter perk properly calculates bonuses to stats for the player's new enchantments

• Fixed rare instance of Civil War battle not starting properly if player receives a Companions quest from Farkas
• During Brelyna's Practice, fixed rare issue where the player could be permanently invisible
• Triggering combat in Largashbur no longer stops progression to The Cursed Tribe
• Fixed rare instance where fighting a Civil War battle during The Fallen would prevent the Jarl of Whiterun from accepting their axe in Message to Whiterun
• In The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller, fixed rare instance where Arngeir would not teach player the last word of Unrelenting Force
• In Taking Care of Business, fixed issue where Brynjolf would not give player this quest if Talen-Jei was dead
