'Path' is the Installation Folder '..the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt'

This patch is NOT necessary to install the Enhanced Edition. Patch 1.35 can be used as a more lightweight (118 MB) alternative to the 11 GB Enhanced Edition (3.0) patch for the owners of retail copies of the release (1.0) version of The Witcher 2, which requires patching to run. Patch 3.4 (download link) For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt edit edit source For the PC platform, the patching structure differs between GOG Galaxy and Steam, with the former offering cumulative patches while the latter also provides smaller patch sizes due to compressions in file delivery. Not like it changes anything, but we are obligated to inform you that we are using cookies - well, we just did. More info on cookies.
I assume the game is registered in your GOG account. If so, download and install the GOG galaxy client. Go to the Witcher 3 page in the client that allows you to download the game, and rather than download it, click More - Manage - Import Folder and then click on Select Folder, browse to your current Witcher 3 install and select that. If you had the GoG version from the beginning, and saved the download files and the patch files you could have gone back to any of the other versions. I have the initial download files which were V1.01, and then I have patch V1.02(required to play) through V1.07 patches, so I can go back to any of them if I wanted.

Guys, this is wierd! theres no 'The Witcher® 3 - Wild Hunt [GOG.com]' in my 'AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms'
And I've finished the game twice with no problems!
But I can't install the patch and agian says 'game installation not found' :(((((
I think the problem is because of not having the 'The Witcher® 3 - Wild Hunt [GOG.com]' file or folder (because i don't know what it is)
Plz Plz PLZ HELP ME!
What do I do? Where do I get it from? Is it Kb or Mb?
I'd be grateful for any tips :D

@David: The start menu folder isn't important. The one that matters is `Path` - this should be set to the folder you installed the game to, such as C:Program FilesThe Witcher 3. Try that :)

Hey guys. After i downloaded the registry, i received a notepad file. Can you tell me what to do with it?
Posted by CallistoSite owner on
Hi @Nomad. You need to save the file with a .reg extension then just open the file. It'll ask you to merge it in, confirm it and it'll work :)

hi and thanks for the help, i did all the steps above and it did appear to find the game installation, but i keep getting an error saying:
Setup was unable to create the directory 'C:Program Files (x86)The Witcher 3 Wild Huntbinx64witcher3.exe'
Error 183: Cannot create a file when the file already exists.
any clue what i could be doing wrong ? thanks in advance

- ensure those paths are written with DOUBLE backslashes -->
- the reg file above probably is for 32 bit Windows, which the directory is different for 64 bit Windows, to get this to work with 64 bit Windows, change the following line
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREGOG.comGames1207664643]
to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeGOG.comGames1207664643]
- for those with version 1.10 wanting to patch to higher version, change BUILD to 40 and VER to 2.0.0.40
