Right nice sorted it i'll just use potplayer from now on, thanks for you're help guys, it must be a windows 10 problem, potplayer only lets you see Visualizations in fullscreen mode but you can have playlist at the side on the same screen, so that will have to do till they fix windows media player, if they ever do.
Visualizations How do I remove Visualizations from Media Player? I tried deleting the Visualizations folder, but no dice. The Options window shows both Visualization and a delete button, but the button is greyed out. It used to be possible to select 'No Visualization', but this does not seem to be the case any longer. This is driving me nuts.

If Windows Media Player stopped working correctly after the latest updates from Windows Update, you can verify that the updates are the problem by using System Restore. To do this:
